Perhaps a national turn towards liberty is occurring.

First, Obama's approval rating is finally tanking towards the territory it richly deserves (which, in my opinion, is the low teens).

"President Obama’s job approval rating has plunged to the lowest of his presidency, according to a new CBS News poll released Wednesday, and Americans’ approval of the Affordable Care Act has dropped it’s lowest since CBS News started polling on the law.
Thirty-seven percent now approve of the job Mr. Obama is doing as president, down from 46 percent in October — a nine point drop in just a month. Mr. Obama’s disapproval rating is 57 percent — the highest level for this president in CBS News Polls."

Second, the polls seem to show a surprising affinity for the Tea Party, which we must recall is itself nothing more than an informal collection of people who believe in the Constitution and in fiscal prudence.

"Support for the Tea Party movement is at 38% for all registered voters, not far below the 41% approval rating and 46% favorability rating for Obama.
Moreover, 46% think the Tea Party has too little/just about right influence versus 43% who think it has too much influence.  49% think the Tea Party political views are about right or too liberal, versus only 40% who think too conservative.
It’s clear that support for Tea Party political views exceeds support for the movement, likely the result of years of demonization, culiminating in the recent Democratic Party eliminationist rhetoric directed at the Tea Party."

This seems like a clear trend. Could the country finally be coming to it's senses, and snapping out of the trance of Obamaphilia?

  1. I'll withhold judgment until the next mid-term election. If the Republicans take Congress, it will be a sure sign that the pendulum is swinging back toward sanity and we may yet keep the Republic.
