Infinite arrogance, infinite incompetence

Constitutional government. Gone. Some of us remember it, as a trembling octogenarian remembers ardor in the back seat of his ’53 Chevy. The young will know it only as an exotic idea. Bush II began the serious bleeding. Obama, the first African-American president and much more African than American, opens the larger veins.
Unfettered surveillance of absolutely everything, militarized police, the military as private presidential army, searches without probable or indeed any cause, photo ID required to buy train tickets, on and on.

Economic policy. If any. Washington drives the country bankrupt, colludes with Wall Street, to the extent that there is a distinction between Washington and Wall Street, and brings on the subprime crash. The swine tell us that we are the greatest economic powerhouse known to creation, while unemployment is ghastly, college grads have to live with their parents, food stamps spread, and the middle class lives paycheck to paycheck. Oh thank you, thank you.

Race relations. Another charred ruin. Better than a half century into the Great Society, huge numbers of blacks live trapped in urban Bantustans, Newark, Detroit, Birmingham, Philadelphia, barely literate if at all, unemployed and unemployable, bastardy almost universal, utterly dependent on federal charity, without the slightest hope that any of this will change. If Washington had deliberately tried to make a greater mess, it couldn’t have.

  1. Do you ever feel like giving up? Giving up in the sense of being a watchman on the wall? God knows I have been screaming warnings for the last 5 years in my little corner of the universe trying to educate and just wake people the hell up. No, I do not blog, but in my own little sphere of influence I have tried to get people to loose the scales from their eyes. But it seems, my little voice can't penetrate the minutia that those around me seem absorbed with. It seems football, and the housewives of New Jersey are more important to people. The young only care about what their next tattoo will be. Why do I waste my sanity on these fools anymore.
I had a conversation with someone the other day about politics. I told them, I am done with the political process, because even when we do win, we get sold out. Told them I was done with the process and just waiting for the shooting to start. I hope it doesn't ever get to that, but I have little faith or hope in the majority of my countrymen. All I feel we can do now is hunker down and wait for the shit to hit the fan. I do not wish it, but maybe that is what this country needs. For now, all I can do is pray for the best and prepare for the worst.

    1. All of us despair, sometimes, but the fact is that we still have to fight for our country and our culture. Giving up isn't really an option, since the rot will follow us and our children wherever we go.

My motto is to fight, but prepare for the worst. I called Boehner's office the other day and spoke with someone, telling them to never agree to amnesty in any form. They still will, but at least they know the base will leave when he does. We should also be organizing, preferably within the grass roots of the Republican Party, but also simply among ourselves, so we can act together either inside or outside the political process.
I was just the other day discussing this with a fellow at work. My prediction is that the country fragments into at least two separate new nations, one faithful to the original constitution, and the other to socialism. That will be the moment when action will be required especially if you, like me, live in a red area of a blue state.
As the Chinese say, "may you live in interesting times."
