Irish tourist takes on a mob of Turkish shopkeepers, and whips them good.

In the video - reminiscent of a Kung Fu film - the locals swarm around the holidaymaker, attacking him with chairs and wooden poles.
But he is more than a match for them, ducking their blows before landing some knock out punches of his own.
Trouble started in İstanbul's Aksaray district when the big Irishman opened a shop fridge and all the bottles of water spilled out into the street.
The shopkeeper took offence and hit him with a stick after the situation escalated.
Dozens of neighbouring shop owners then steam in to help - but unluckily for them, their victim is a trained boxer.  Luckily for the Irishman, none of the shopkeepers wanted to really take him on like men, toe to toe.  Instead, they tried to rely on numbers and swinging at him with what appear to be light sticks and plastic chairs.  Look how far away the guy in green stripes is from Paddy in this picture.   Come on, Hassan, you can't even reach him from that far away!  Get in there and punch!
All of them should admit it - they all - all of them - had fun except for the guy on the ground.  They'll be talking about it around the dinner table for years.

One down, sixty seven to go

  1. Arabs will always rat-pack you. I've never known one to stand-up fight. It speaks to culture and one might also say, to character.

    1. These are Turks, but it's the same principle as with the Arabs. In this case, the rack pack went home with some black eyes.
