Little known history



In this March 8, 1984, file photo, Donald Trump shakes hands with Herschel Walker in New York after agreement on a 4-year contract with the New Jersey Generals USFL football team. The New Jersey Generals have been largely forgotten, but Trump’s ownership of the team was formative in his evolution as a public figure and peerless self-publicist. With money and swagger, he led a shaky and relatively low-budget spring football league, the USFL, into a showdown with the NFL.

  1. I wish the USFL were still around, especially with this nonsense the spoiled millionaires are pulling at games, that their spoiled billionaire employers refuse to control.
    Believe me, if any hourly employee in this country went on political rants on company time, they'd be fired in a minute. Why are the opinions of these so-called 'athletes' so special?

  2. I was a big fan of the Tampa Bay Bandits under Spurrier....they made the Bucs look like pikers in those days....
